There are many opportunities to excel in the Visual Arts at East Jackson Comprehensive High School!
National Art Honor Society (NAHS)
Creative thinking is the core of 21st century learning and, by joining the EJCHS National Art Honor Society students can magnify their existing innovational abilities, skills, and opportunities for scholarship. Opportunities for national recognition, scholarships, and connectivity to 46,000+ outstanding art students are available.
Candidates must have a minimum art average of "B" after completing or while enrolled in their first art class. Meetings are held monthly after school in the art room led by the chapter's officers. Mrs. Manchester is the faculty sponsor and annual dues of $10.00/yr. are required for membership. NAHS is for grades 10-12th.
Art Club
8th and 9th grades can join the Art Club after paying $10.00/yr. dues to be a part the energetic and artistic activities and community service projects of NAHS at EJCHS. Our art club organizes the countywide Art Exhibit, in March to commemorate Youth Art Month in Georgia. This exhibit invites all of the Jackson County School system school art programs to participate. We also volunteer to help with the student art exhibit at Art in the Park held at Hurricane Shoals Park each year.
Visual Art Honor Cords
Any student can earn an honor cord for graduation with annual membership and active service in NAHS, a minimum of 3 art classes, and earn a "B" minimum average in each art class.
Lettering in Visual Art
Students can earn a Visual Art letter and bars each year for Letter Jackets by completing specific criteria through NAHS at our school. See Mrs. Manchester to sign up for NAHS/Art club to receive a packet to get started today.
