Welcome to my website. I began my teaching career in 1998, after graduating from the University of Georgia with a B.S.Ed in Art Education. Later, I earned my Masters in Elementary Education from Piedmont University and an Ed. S in Leadership & Administration from Lincoln Memorial University.
My family has two cats named da Vinci and Autumn Matisse. We have a dog named Willow Monet. We enjoy visiting historic sites, museums, swimming, and sight seeing in Atlanta! Spending time with family is important to me.
My husband, David, and I have one grand daughter/daughte at EJCHS, Tristan. I also have four grown children who live in Georgia: Sarah, Madeline, and Benjamin. Sarah lives in Covington. Madeline attended Georgia Tech and lives in Lawrenceville. My son Benjamin graduated from the University of North Georgia and lives locally. Rozalyn my grand daughter/daughter will be attending UNG this fall to continue her education to become a high school Science teacher.
I came to Jackson County in 2007, to teach elementary art from Gilmer High School in Ellijay, Georgia, where I began and developed the art program. Since 2007, I have taught art at North Jackson Elementary, West Jackson Primary School, Maysville Elementary, and East Jackson Elementary School. As a result, I'm fortunate to know many fantastic administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and students in Jackson County. This is a great county for education!
I came to our school in January, 2014. It is my ongoing goal to steer our Art Education Department toward excellence and provide opportunities for every student to excel in visual art. It is an honor and privilege to teach the young adults of Jackson County.
